About the Role

IBM is hiring a Technical Support Professional for its IBM Software division based in Kochi. The role involves remote technical support of IBM Products with a focus on Linux/Unix and Windows platforms. You will be part of the Software Support Team that supports mission-critical software used globally across banking, travel, security, and many more sectors.This position is ideal for professionals who enjoy troubleshooting, working closely with customers, and solving complex software issues. You’ll also be contributing to IBM's knowledge base and will collaborate across various support teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide remote technical assistance for IBM software products.
  • Use diagnostic skills to identify root causes and recreate customer-reported problems.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex systems across Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
  • Work with system traces and logs to determine problems and propose solutions.
  • Collaborate with global teams to prioritize and resolve issues.
  • Manage technical support cases and update customer-facing documentation.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional communication.
  • Maintain and contribute to the internal knowledge base for future issue resolution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in technical support or services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems
  • Familiarity with IBM MQ or similar application servers
  • Customer-facing support experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize under pressure
  • Experience with iSeries or z/OS (preferred)
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus
  • Understanding of debugging and diagnostic tools for system analysis
  • Ability to contribute to and maintain technical documentation
